To create a unique wine, the selection of the place is of paramount importance. Historical experience allows us to be guided by existing information and to plant vineyards where they once were.

According to the geographical location, in the present there are 24 wines with protected designations of origin,registered in Georgia.

Particular quality and reputation of wine, is due to the specific zones of vineyard cultivation, where specific vine sorts can flourish and hence the tatse and features of the grapes grown here are characterised accordingly. The mentioned matter is regulated by the legislation of Georgia

Kakheti

Mukuzani - Red Dry Wine, that can be produced from Saperavi and / or Saperavi Long grain grape varieties grown in Mukuzani microzone, and it is unnecaptable to use other varieties. Read more

Tsinandali – White dry wine, that is produced only from Rkatsiteli grape sort grown in Tsinandali microzone. 15% of Kakhetian green grape varieties grown in the same microzone can be added to Rkatsiteli grapes in the production proccess of „Tsinandali“. Read more

Akhasheni – Red, naturally semi-sweet wine, that must be produced from Saperavi and/or Saperavi long grain grape varieties grown in Akhasheni microzone. Read more

Gurjaani – White dry wine, that can be produced only from Rkatsiteli grape sort grown in Gurjaani microzone. It is allowed to use 15% of Kakhetian green grape varieties grown in the same microzone in the production process of „Gurjaani“. Read more

Kindzmarauli – Red, naturally semi-sweet wine, that is produced from Saperavi and/or Saperavi long grain grape varieties grown in the Kindzmarauli microzone. Read more

Manavi Manavi – White dry wine, that is produced only from Kakhetian green grape sort grown in Manavi microzone. Using any onther grape varieties is unacceptable. Read more

Kakheti – Can be white, red, pink, or amber-according to color, and dry, naturally semi-dry, naturally semi-sweet and naturrally sweet-according to its sugar content. Read more

Napareuli – Dry wine, that can be white or red. Read more

Teliani – Red dry wine, that can only be produced from Kaberne Savignon grape sort grown in the Teliani microzone. Using any other grape varieties in unaccaptable. Read more

Vazisubani – White dry wine, that can only be produced from Rkatsiteli grape sort grown in Vazisubani microzone. Up to 15% of Kakhetian green grape varieties grown in the same microzone can be added to the production of „Vazisubani“. Read more

Kardenakhi – It can be amber colored dry, or white fortified wine. It is produced only from Rkatsiteli grape variety grown in the Kardenakhi microzone. Up to 15% of Kakhetian green and Khikhvi grape varieties grown in the same microzone can be added to the production of „Kardenakhi“. Read more

Tibaani – Amber colored dry wine, that is produced only from the Rkatsiteli grape variety from Tibaani microzone. Up to 15% of Kakhetian green grape varieties and Khikhvi grape varieties grown in the same microzone can be added to the production of „Tibaani“. Read more

Kvareli – Red dry wine, that can be produced from Saperavi grape varieties from the Kvareli microzone. Using any other grape varieties in unaccaptable. Read more

Kotekhi ((White ) – High quality white dry wine from Protected Designation of Origin.  Kotekhi (Red) – High quality red dry wine from Protected Designation of Origin. Read more

Saperavi Khashmi Red wine. It can only be produced from Saperavi grape variety from Khashmi microzone. Read more

Tsarapi Tsarapi – Amber colored dry wine. It can only be produced from Saperavi grape varieties from Tsarpi microzone. Up to 15% of Kakhetian green and/or Khikhvi grape varieties grown in the same microzone can be added to Rkatsiteli grape sort in the production of „Tsarpi“. Read more

Akhmeta (Akhmetis Mtsvane) – White or amber colored wine. „Akhmeta“ can only be produced from Kakhetian green grape sort grown in the Akhmeta microzone. Using any other grape varieties is unaccaptable. Up to 15% in total Kisi and/or Khikhvi grape sort grown in the same microzone can be added to Kakhetia green grape in the production of amber colored „Akhmeta“. Read more

Akhoebi – Red dry wine, that can only be produced from Saperavi and/or Saperavi long grain grape varieties grown in the Akhoebi microzone. Using any other grape varieties is unaccaptable.  Read more

Kartli

Atenuri – Can be white dry, sparkling and lightly sparkling wine. It can only be produced from Chinuri and/or Goruli green and/or Aligote grape varieties grown in Ateni microzone. Using any other grape varieties is unaccaptable. Read more

Bolnisi - Dry wine, that can be white, amber colored, red and pink. Read more

Imereti

Sviri – White dry wine, that can only be produced from Tsolikouri, Tsitska and/ or Krakhuna grape varieties grown in Sviri microzone. Read more

Racha

Khvanchkara – Red, naturally semi-sweet wine. It can only be produced from Aleksandrouli and Mujruteuli grape varieties grown in Khvanchkara microzone. Using any other grape sorts is unaccaptable, despite exceptions considered by Georgian legislation. Read more

Letchkhumi

Tvishi – White, naturally semi-sweet wine, that can only be produced from Tsolikouri grape sort grown in Tvishi microzone. Using any other grape varieties is unaccaptable. Read more

Samegrelo

Salkhino Ojaleshi – Red dry wine, that can only be produced from Ojaleshi grape sort grown in Salkhino microzone. Using any other grape varieties is unaccaptable. Read more
