On November 21st, as mentioned in the previous article, Georgian Wine Guild organized the competition "Kartli Wine from Uplosi to Modernity" with support of the wine tasting shop „Reserve“ and the Uplistsikhe Museum.
The award ceremony for the participants of the mentioned competition was held by the Georgian Wine Guild on December 19. The ceremony was attended by companies / producers participating in the competition as well as special guests working in the wine sector.
As the name of the competition indicates, only those companies / producers that produce wine in Kartli region participated in it.
Two nominations were presented at the competition: "Wine made from Kartli vine varieties" and "Wine made from endemic grape vine varieties in Kartli". In the selection of the three highest rated wines, the Georgian Wine Guild, due to the content of the competition, gave preference to the wines produced in Kartli from the Kartli vine varieties, and hence, three highest rated wines were revealed in this nomination:
- . Bolnisi Golden Fleece – Tavkveri 94 points - Grand Gold Medal
- Winery Agidela – Goruli Mtsvane – 93 points – Grand Gold Medal
- Vila Mosavali – Goruli Mtsvane aged in a barrel – 91 points - Gold Medal
